why don't you try to establish what was meant I tried to tell you what I meant. You prefer your rendition. I was bored by the thousand posts on this thread about superscripts and Selectric balls and the shapes of apostrophes. As soon as I heard, very near the top of the discussion, that the spacing was proportional, it was obvious that the memos practically couldn't have come from a typewriter in that place at that time so any further discussion on that question was moot and boring and a waste of my time. If others choose to spend their time poking around in such minutia, that's their prerogative, but I reserve the prerogative to make a mild expression of my annoyance over the way it disrupted my following the thread. You can misread that if you like or you can make any inferences that you like, but that's what I meant. anything wrong with rooting for the "david" against the goliath? Nothing wrong with rooting for David. Conflating oneself with David in one's mind is another matter, the one I was addressing. petty statement on your part, karen I guess you could look at it that way. Or maybe just as feedback from someone with some perspective. please let's drop it before everyone's eyes glaze over, the record is there, let anyone interested go back and read the links i posted if there is any question and draw their own conclusion Amen. I tried to drop it around my third or fourth post on the subject. I'd love to see it over. I was counting on the CBS announcement to squeeze it out earlier this afternoon but CBS let us down again. As for anyone going back and reviewing the bidding, well that is weirder than spending time on typesetting arcana. <g>
