Good post. Another paradigm is for countries to vote for people that don't want to give women any rights. And then call it Democracy.

The new paradigm for countries is dictatorships with nearly powerless parlaments. It allows the country to claim they are a democracy. That's not a new paradigm. East Germany under communism was called the German Democratic Republic......same with other Russian satellites. All Russia's Bush is doing is reverting to type. I am glad many of the former communist countries are under the NATO umbrella. Lets hope the EU strengthens their military quickly now that we are pulling out. ted
