Who will indite Bush and his regime so they can be arrested to answer for the illegal invasion of Iraq? Would they have to stand in front of the World Court? Maybe this is just going to go only as far as the world court of public opinion.

The US didn't sign up to the World Court. Perhaps Bush was thinking ahead.

It may be more of a problem for Tony Blair. I've been following a story since August that's virtually ignored in the US news.

SUPPORT GROWING FOR BLAIR IMPEACHMENT BID

14:00 - 16 September 2004
Support is growing for a Carmarthen MP's attempt to impeach Prime Minister Tony Blair over the war in Iraq. Twenty-one MPs have now backed the attempt launched by Carmarthen East and Dinefwr Plaid Cymru MP Adam Price.

He claims Mr Blair misled parliament over the threat posed by Saddam Hussein in order to win support to go to war.

If successful, the impeachment attempt would effectively put Mr Blair on trial before the House of Lords and removed from office if found guilty.

But this is unlikely as those in support of impeachment would have to overturn Labour's massive majority in the House of Commons.

Despite this, other MPs are still signing up to offer their backing for the attempt, the first of its kind in 150 years.

In a joint statement issued at a press conference in the House of Commons, Plaid Cymru's parliamentary leader Elfyn Llwyd MP and the leader of the SNP Alex Salmond MP said: "We are delighted by the extent of cross party support that the impeachment process has received.

"We have already received messages of support from MPs from across the political spectrum.

"It is extremely encouraging that the number of MPs publicly supporting the campaign has nearly doubled since the announcement was first made at the end of August.

"People across the United Kingdom and in Parliament feel let down by the Prime Minister who misled the House of Commons and took this country to war based on a lie.

"That is a serious charge indeed and the contempt this Government has shown for Parliament must not go unchallenged.

"We look forward now to the publication of the legal opinion next week.

"We are confident that once parliamentary colleagues have had the opportunity to take in the legal aspects of the procedure, more of them will feel compelled to support the impeachment campaign."

Same war, same players, same "intelligence" and on the same side. Yet one side of the pond view things quite differently.
