Kerry, Bush Are in Statistical Tie in Pew Survey (Update1)
Sept. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry and President George W. Bush are in a statistical tie among voters nationwide, a Pew Research Center poll found.

Bush won the support of 47 percent of the 725 likely voters surveyed Sept. 11-14, compared with 46 percent for Kerry. The poll had a margin of 4 percentage points.

The Pew poll and another by Harris Interactive that also found a statistical tie show that a boost in support Bush got from the Aug. 30-Sept. 2 Republican National Convention may be dissipating. Kerry trailed Bush by 11 points in a Sept. 7-9 Time magazine poll.
