Next thing you know, some wingnut will question their patriotism
Powerline

My daughter is a junior at Walt Whitman High School, an upscale public school in Bethesda, Maryland. Yesterday, she shocked me by reporting that she is the only student in her first period class who stands and recites the Pledge of Allegiance. She has spoken to her friends about why very few of them recite the Pledge. Three main reasons are cited. First, school starts early, and kids don't feel like standing up. Second, Bush is evil and the U.S. is pretty bad too. Third, with hardly anyone else standing, some feel uncomfortable doing so.

I would add one other reason: a misguided education at home and at school.

I know from your files that we have now reassembled --- Bill Burkett Aug 25 2004

Hate to kick a man when he's down, but there's a few problems here :

1. He 'reassembled' them and passed them on as authentic, and talked about it. Aren't there laws against things like this?

2. He 'reassembled' them and passed them on to CBS and CBS judged them genuine. Q: How many cbs professional journalists does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A: What cbs professional journalist?

3. He 'reassembled' them using Microsoft Word and assumed he will get away with it. Somehow, I don't think Bill Burkett will win the Nobel price for intelligence this year. :)
