There were no terrorists in Iraq until we attacked!

I wonder what has happened to compassion? Does an administration like this one create so many cold blooded supporters or were they that way to begin with?

That's the same lie they told us about Viet Nam. Stop them there or we'll have Commies invading our beaches, The Domino theory, blah blah blah.
Iraq was no threat. They'd been decimated by Daddy Bush's war. They were contained. Containment worked on the mighty USSR with all their nukes. Iraq was chump change to keep contained.

But no, the Bush League wanted a war so badly they lied to us. Over and over they lied, and the masses believed them. Even Kerry believed them and voted to give the President the authority to attack without a formal declaration of war from congress. Nobody thought that Bush would lie so blatantly. Some people *still* believe the lies BushCo told.

The Iraquis are doing the same thing a whole lot of patriotic Americans would do if another country invaded us. Remember, to the government at the time, Sam Adams and Paul Revere were terrorists.

re We're fighting the Islamic terrorists in Iraq instead of on your doorstep. Why is that difficult to understand?

Because it's a lie. We're creating terrorists by our involvement where we have no business. China & Japan get most of their oil from the gulf, more than the US which most of its oil from Canada & Mexico. China & Japan should get over there if the ragheads need help pumping oil. Bush army of occupation has done absolutely nothing to make the US safer and I believe has greatly increased the danger of more terrorist attacks worldwide. Bush certainly didn't manage to stop the Bali bombing but Cheney has the arrogance to claim that if Kerry were elected the US would be victim again implying that with Bush we would not be attacked again. That's hubris of the worst kind, even worse than Bush saying "Bring'em on." Bush and Cheney are unamerican and have more than all other presidents combined to undermine our standing in the eyes of the world.

Casualties in Iraq
As of 07 September 2004 the US had officially announced the names of 984 American service members who had died in Iraq since the beginning of the war. At least 16 additional deaths have been reported since the beginning of September, though the names have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Still left unresolved is the issue of US deaths for which annnouncements have been made in prior months but who still do not appear to have been identified formally by the US Department of Defense.

Bush is getting tens of thousands of Americans maimed and killed. We're getting slaughtered in Iraq and the situation is hopeless. If Bush had a brain he'd pull out.
