Too bad you have a short memory! Bush rushed to war over the protests of France and Germany and of the UN. He rushed to war confidently because his propaganda machine had convinced ~60% of Americans that Iraq was funding Al-Qaeda operations and he thought Iraq was a piece of cake. As it turned out, the only thing in common between Iraq and Al-Qaeda is the letter "Q" and Iraq became a quagmire and a nightmare. BTW, as someone had noted, the Iraq war is actually a war for oil for huge profits for Bush's cronys.
