Pentagon must hand over documents by Sept. 24

WASHINGTON - A federal judge has ordered the Pentagon to find and make public by next week any unreleased files about President Bush’s Vietnam-era Air National Guard service to resolve a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by The Associated Press.

There are private portions of the records that no judge could order released under the freedom of information act. This is why the press can't get it's hands on over half of JFK's military records. If the 180 is not signed there would be nothing the court could order.
