Puhleeze don't go blaming Bush for Kerry's own
ill-considered strategy!!!

Kerry's a big boy and has to be held accountable for his
own decisions about how to run the campaign.

What "started it" was the months of unending
assaults by DNC and eventually Kerry surrogates
against the President, beginning with the AWOL claim.

The swiftvets had signaled their intentions well
before the DNC convention, but the Kerry-ites
were evidently too arrogant or too complacent to
realize that they were walking right into it
with the theme of their convention.

It wouldn't have taken high-priced help to figure out
that one either. It should have been obvious to
anyone with half a brain.

The problem is that Kerry is too cloistered--and has
beaten down questions about his service so often in the past--
such that he didn't appreciate the grave error he
was making.

And that's his fault.
Not Bush's.

<edit: Beyond that, if Kerry had to go back and
focus on 4 months of combat duty 30+ years ago
in order to counter Bush's references to being a "war
president", that should tell you something
about Kerry's Senate record. He should have been
able to point to aspects of his record that would
show his ability to lead in time of war. He couldn't
do it because his 20 year record in the Senate does NOT
support it.>

So Kerry had a little fun at the convention with his boatmates

LOL! "john kerry reporting for duty".

his dnc speech:
Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam = 99-100%;
senate experience after nineteen plus years = 0-1%

there is your problem. You are supporting a loser.

So Kerry had a little fun at the convention with his boatmates.

With thanks to Martin Mull:

Men, men, men, men
Men, men, men,men...

It's great to be on a ship with men and sail across the sea, oh,
We don't know where we'll land or when, but it's great to be with men.

'Cause men can sweat and men can stink and no one seems to care, oh,
We'll throw the dishes in the sink and clog the drain with hair, oh!
(And clog the drain with hair, oh!)

Men, men, men,
We're a ship all filled with men,
So batten down the ladies' room, there's no one here but men!

There's men above and men below and men down in the galley,
There's Butch and Spike and Buzz and Biff and one guy we call Sally!
(And one guy we call Sally!)

Men, men, men,
We're a ship all filled with men,
You'll never have to lift the seat, there's no one here but men!

We're men and friends until the end and none of us are sissies,
At night we sleep in seperate beds and blow each other kissies!
(And blow each other kissies!)

Men, men, men,
we're a ship all filled with men,
So throw your rubbers overboard, there's no one here but men!

Amen (prounounced "Ahhhhh, men!")

It was Bush that started it by saying "I'm a war president" over and over.

Well, isn't that curious...

Last time I checked, I do believe he was President.
