Amy J,

It seems that you and steve are determined to argue terminology, not substance. There are miscarriages, where the fetus dies of natural causes, and there are abortions where a viable fetus is killed / aborted.

In a very few cases, health of the mother may be at risk, but majority of cases are elective.

I don't think there is any disagreement about miscarriages.

Joe

The CDC defines a legal induced abortion as "a procedure, performed by a licensed physician or someone acting under the supervision of a licensed physician, that was intended to terminate a suspected or known intrauterine pregnancy and to produce a nonviable fetus at any gestational age."

Also this:
state.nj.us
The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), a branch of CDC, defines an induced termination of pregnancy as "the purposeful interruption of an intrauterine pregnancy with the intention other than to produce a live-born infant, and which does not result in a live birth. This definition excludes management of prolonged retention of products of conception following fetal death."

Your miscarriage position is wrong.

CDC statistics average 1500000 abortions a year.
80% are to unmarried women.
Abortion is birth control; a matter of convenience.

I think the data clearly shows you are wrong and your opinion is based upon what you perceive as an exception to justify the slaughter of 1500000 unborn children a year average.
