Oil and war never seem to be far from the Bushies minds. Daddy Bush must have made
a bundle with his investments in the Carlyle Group. For instance, I've heard The Carlyle Group invested
in stocks that would do well during wars.

Then, there was George W's foray into the Texas oil industry. Now, George W. and all his
fat corporate contributors grow richer as oil prices increase.

I read recently:

"The sluggishness - indeed decline - in the real price of oil since
the mid-1980s (when it was roughly the equivalent of a present
day $80) has discouraged serious searches for new oil fields, as
well as the development of known potential sources. And one
must never forget that the fear of political instability in Saudi
Arabia was a major motive behind the decision to invade Iraq. "

AS, If we look into the past, we learn that oil corporations had so much influence
over George W. Bush that he blocked investigations into Islamist terrorism- Mephisto

"The Bush administration may also harbour some guilty secrets
over its determination to put America's economic and strategic
interests ahead of tracking down Islamist terrorists - at least
before September 11. In a new book, Bin Laden - the ForbiddenTruth,
two French intelligence analysts, Jean Charles Brisard
and Guillaume Dasquié, claim that the administration initially
blocked US secret service investigations into Islamist terrorism,
under the influence of powerful oil corporations, many of whom
had stumped up wads of cash for the Bush campaign."
