tho many people would rightfully argue that times were tough for iraqi women under the reign of saddam, anyone who's read a good portion of that 'baghdad burning' blog can attest to the fact that amidst the oppression, at least one girl was able to achieve quite an education

given the tumultuous situation that we now find iraq to be in, i severely doubt that such an education remains feasible

i'd imagine that it's pretty hard to become literate while at the same time... fearing for your life
