The Left's Spin Gets Weaker
LGF

At The Washington Monthly, Peter Principle blogger Kevin Drum just can’t understand what all the fuss is about.

THE REAL STORY....If I’ve counted correctly, Instapundit has posted 65 separate items about Dan Rather this week — and that’s not counting either the endless updates or the fact that he slowed down today in order to get some dental work done. Over at National Review Online, snarky Dan Rather references have taken over their entire home page today, which includes six full-length articles about Rather in addition to uncounted references on The Corner and the Kerry Spot.

What’s going on? Do these guys really think the Rather affair is that big a deal?

Know what you mean, Kevin. How could “these guys” be so silly?

CBS, one of the largest news services in the world, uses phony documents to influence a presidential election in a time of war. What intelligent person could ever think this was a big deal?

John Kerry is a terrible campaigner on the national stage, where Ted Kennedy's aura does nothing to protect him.

And still none of the demo big guns are stepping up to help him. Nor is Kerry helping them.

I have yet to see Kerry ask a crowd to vote for Daschle or any other demo leader. Daschle for his part uses his tv ads to show himself in GWB's company rather than with Kerry.

After 20 years in the ultimate boys club, the US Senate, I would expect men like Joe Biden to support Kerry, but they aren't. Kerry's friends willing to speak for him are one ex-army LT and a few Swiftees. And their story is too old to do any good. His campaign staff speaks for him also, as they should, because they all draw nice salaries.

Where are Senators Billary, Nancy Pelosi, Robert Byrd, Evan Bayh, Christopher Dodd, Hollings, Graham, Lieberman, Levin, Rockerfeller and Nelson?

What Happened to Kennedy joining Kerry on the campaign trail? Someone must have figured out that the antidote for one poison is not to mix it with a more powerful poison.

Kerry is not a unifier. He can't be. He has burned nearly all the bridges already.
