I do not doubt the letter praising Bush. The commander obviously found out who Bush's father was, and decided to get some suck-up points. The military is as political as any branch of government, and a politically astute officer knows the value of a well placed complement. Bill Maher is great, although he is simply preaching to the choir. He's a little too far left to influence any moderates, especially with his obsession on drugs. I think he's having trouble getting conservatives to come on his show, as they are regularly pummeled (most are used to the warm loving embrace of FOX News).
