Agree. While talking to oneself (coherently and somewhat in public) has value (g), adversity stimulates thought.

Blogging might be more focused and energy-efficient, because one doesn't get picked at or shot down all the time. Guess different venues fit better different personalities. None of these things would be possible without the Net. Good thing Al Gore was there when History needed him....
