Last time I checked they made their money by taking risks, making investments, and transporting goods when nobody else could, in effect, giving the "poor" lower cost items than they could have otherwise had.Try the Southern plantation owners whose slaves provided their livelihood. I was really thinking of someone in business today. The list is endless and should be obvious to anyone who has studied American history in non GOP schools. Clearly, you attended the Howard Zinn School of Rewritten History. It is very difficult to go from rags to riches in this country........ Yes, well, it does take hard work. I'm certainly not "rich", but I have everything I want and more. And I started with nothing. True story. I had a client who moved to this country in about June of 1985. He came here from Pakistan and had ZILCH. And the end of 1985 he filed his first US Tax Return and reported net income of about $36,000 (for the six months or so here was here). When I last did his taxes, in 1992, he made over $300,000. The guy who bought my accounting practice told me in '97 the guy made over a million dollars. That's rags to riches by most people's standards. One other thing. The guy had no college education. He had a work ethic, could read and write, and a willingness to do whatever it takes. I can tell a hundred more true stories just like it. You can bet this guy's biggest problem, right now, is paying the unbelievable taxes on the money he is making. You're full of it. There is no place on earth better suited to going from rags to riches, and my client knew it when he came here. That's why everyone wants to come here and only the Alec Baldwins of the world want to leave. Bottom line. You haven't a clue what you're talking about. As usual.
