No one can name a single Bush success, nor a single major policy he has not lied to us about. If you would buy a used car from GW you're a real sucker. What's good for Texas is bad for the rest of the country. Don't mess with Texas, should be changed to "Texas, don't mess with us"

Very good article.

I'd thought of the small town in GA that made gun ownership mandatory. Their crime rate went down fast.

I agree with the descriptions of those myths. Extreme gun control laws are on the books of Washington, DC, New York, the UK and Australia. In Australia, they've now moved to make swords prohibited weapons because when guns were no long available, no joke, the gangs moved to swords. We all know Washington DC is the murder capitol. In the UK, gun crime exploded after the prohibition against handguns. Now the criminals are making their own guns, using BB and pellet guns and replica guns and terrorizing the disarmed public. In the UK self defense is a crime. I can't think of a better place to go to practice a criminal career. Easy victims everywhere. Dr. John Lott is a really good source of explaining the statistics and through surveys found that allowing law abiding citizens to protect themselves is like having free police officers and a heavy duty deterrent against crime. What criminals fear most is people ready and willing to defend themselves. Thru surveys, Lott showed that people defend themselves with firearms about 2 million times a year in the US. If they couldn't defend themselves, they would have mostly been victimes and many wouldn't even be here today.
