Bush's Iraq Policies Face Bipartisan Attack
Senators Want Changes In Iraq Occupation

UPDATED: 7:51 PM EDT September 19, 2004

WASHINGTON -- A bipartisan call went out to the Bush administration Sunday to face reality in Iraq and change its occupation policies.

Senators from both parties said "incompetence" has kept the administration from putting money toward Iraq's reconstruction -- money that's already been appropriated by Congress. Democratic Sen. Joseph Biden, of Delaware, said President George W. Bush has released only 5 percent of those funds.

Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel, of Nebraska, called for a "crisp, sharp analysis" of policies. He told CBS News that sort of policy review didn't happen in Vietnam, and it cost American lives.
