Electoral College Scoreboard: Bush Dominating Now Leads 336-202 With only 44 Days remaining in this election cycle the Electoral College Scoreboard shows numbers that leave little doubt of an incumbent president with a ton of new momentum. The shift is monumental, but down the stretch six weeks is an eternity in presidential politics, so it’s impossible to pronounce this election over.
But the numbers are clearly turning towards President George W. Bush and away from Senator John F. Kerry. This week even produced a New Jersey shift towards the president. It’s difficult to believe that New Jersey could wind up in the Bush column on November 2nd, but as the Bush campaign continues its clear message, it now seems possible.
Five states turned from blue to red in this week’s tally, and a total of 52 Electoral College votes went into the president’s column for this week.
The Bush states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. (35 states 336 Electoral College votes)
The Kerry states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, DC, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington. (15 states and DC 202 Electoral College votes)
