'Local militia'? That's a laugh. Before, they were 'baathist dead-enders' and 'terrorists'. When we negotiate with them, however, they quickly become 'local militia'. They were the same scum who have murdered, pillaged, and bombed both our troops and civilians. Yet, we negotiate with them when Bush sees that his poll numbers are dropping when we fight them. What happened to the tough guy in the flight suit who declared major operations over, the 'Bring it on' guy, the one who said we'd never negotiate with terrorists? He's more poll driven than Clinton ever was; he's trading safety for our troops for higher poll numbers. You've got to wake up to what is really happening in Iraq. The intelligence report leaked last week said that the optimistic scenerio is quagmire. The downside is open civil war. Until people like you and President Bush stop denying the reality, we're going to continue to fall down this sinkhole.
