"Especially troubling has been the increasing repetition of the meme that dissent is treason and that therefore liberals are seditious traitors"

I'm not sure what a "meme" is, but your dishonest claim here is unsupportable. I will bet that you cannot find one qoute or source of ANY KIND that repubs, Bush or conservatives in general think that dissent equates to treason.

ps - here's a good example of being a traitor.

"This really is why the questions around the Bush family's connections to the Nazi regime are relevant today"
What is disgusting, wrong and sometimes equates to being a traitor is LYING about our President during a time of war to try to make political points. It is killing your hero Kerry and your political party. It is also hurting America and leading to more deaths in my opinion. People like you stoke the flames of terrorism by agreeing with them in this war against terrorism.

"Homeland Security" has to be the biggest potential black hole of tax suction ever devised. So far, the focus of the Bush fearmongering has been to conduct dubious foreign adventures on false premises, to support the military component and the Halliburtons in their camp.
It seems to me there's two way we can go. We can continue to be a rouge superpower, pissing off the rest of the world and keeping ourselves "safe" with massive unfunded expenditures. We could mind our own business, quit pissing off the rest of the world, and be as threatened as Canada. I think I know what most citizens would choose.
A suicide bomber is just the poor man's smart bomb. The victims of either are just as dead.
