Yes more families, in fact the highest percentage ever own their own homes. In the other America of kerry and the mental defectives, more families owning their own home is bad. What kind of mental defect causes you to think that way.

Middle class America is only one pink slip or illness away from poverty.The economy is still growing but at half the rate in the last 3 months (at best) that it was growing in the prior 6 months - a current rate of growth that is insufficient to provide jobs for the increase in workforce and that is below the long term trend rate for the US. Optimists may be right and things will pick up soon, but there are no signs in the economy that will be so and plenty of signs it will not.
