At the very least, the people behind it(other than Rather) need to be brought forward and face the consequences.

One would THINK that trying to affect the Presidential Election by fraud would be a serious crime.....one would think.

Absolutely, the CBS fraud will stay hot.

This is by far the biggest story of the campaign. A major network has attempted to sway a presidential election through the use of forged documents. The network made minimal or no effort to verify the report by a news anchor with a long history of animosity toward the President. There is ample reason to suspect that the Democratic Party and the Kerry campaign were involved in the hoax.

I can't recall any misdeed of this scope and severity in the long history of presidential elections, can you? An outright fraud perpetrated on the public near to the election? Involving criminal acts?

It is amusing how the Bush-Bashers here are desperately trying to divert attention by flooding the board with messages about what happened 35 years ago. They can forget it. The public lives in the year 2004 and THE FRAUD is where it's at in this election. Much bigger than Watergate. Many reputations will be ruined. People may go to jail.

This is a story of historic proportions that will only grow from this day on.
