Thanks, Cynic2005. I do remember reading a post from 3 years ago I think where you said that Clinton will look like a saint by the time Bush is done. How prescient!

I have many friends who express the same sort of opinions. These aren't folks that are incapable of independent thought either -- it's like some kind of denial. Maybe the dislike of folks from the east -- maybe it is a bit of a desire to earnestly want the world to be a simpler place than it really is -- paint everything black and white. Early on I wanted -- really wanted to give Bush the benefit of the doubt -- that he might rise to the occasion -- but he is like all the rest -- self-serving and self-promoting -- yeah, Clinton did immoral things in the whitehouse and didn't treat it as sacred in anyway -- but Bush tramples directly on liberty and people love him -- I don't get it. Maybe most have already lost the concept of liberty and have instead replaced it with materialism.

I'm not sure I am going to vote at all ...both of these men are for bigger government to help the people. What a crock that is ...

I'm no theologian, but I have heard many prayers uttered asking God to use our leaders as instruments to bring about world peace. Honestly, I don't think that is the conduit or the method of God to bring about peace and am surprised at others that think so ... but the funny thing is, how are world leaders to bring about this peace?? Well, according to Bush -- we simply start weeding out the bad regimes -- we get peace by killing large numbers of innocents -- if they are in the way.

That so many people buy this puts me in a state of awe -- something terrible is bound to happen as a result. I don't know what -- but for so many to buy this does not bode well, IMO.

Kerry isn't much better. The guy voted to give Bush the authority. He still hasn't mentioned getting our troops out quickly, as far as I know ... If the guy had come out with any moral conviction against the war, he might have had a chance -- but then he'd have been inconsistent. Pretty easy to paint him as the "big waffler" now -- Bush appears saintly because he "sticks to the plan" -- even if it was doomed to failure at the start.

Ughhh ...
