Man, that's the most fantastical post I've seen in a long time. Has logic completely left you? It's already well known that many of the people working for the interim government are, in fact, giving assistance to the guerillas. And why would you take comfort in that there are "former military types who are not in the insurgency"? Do you suppose that some of them retired? Do you suppose that there are a few former civilians that are now in the insurgency?

What's your point? The simple fact is that our casualties in Iraq are up, the number of civilians and insurgents killed is up, and therefore, after 18 months, the war is continuing unabated.
