It's not going to fly after CBS spent 10 days standing behind obvious forgeries.

The key question is "who told Mapes?" She will NEVER give it up on her own. Hopefully, she told somebody else who will. The CBS lawyers will want to get it out. She is conspiring to cover up a felony otherwise. Not that there will ever be a court case.

As I parse Dan's statement today, they still haven't really admitted they're forgeries. Just that they didn't do a good enough job verifying their authenticity.

That might have worked if the documents had been good fakes. It's not going to fly after CBS spent 10 days standing behind obvious forgeries, even refusing to investigate them at all.
