Journalism students will read about this in case studies for years to come. It will not be forgotten easily.

And... the story has not ended yet. Can you imagine the glee in the hearts of bush supporters if it turns out the memos were typed by someone in the kerry camp? Just imagine that.... (of course I have no idea what the truth is, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop).

<<I think the day after tomorrow no one will care about this story >>>

CBS is the only one that can stop the story- if not it is going to grow and spread .

CBS can do that with a full confession when they present the results of their internal investigation being conducted by about 12 people.

I think they will need at least one head on a platter to show the public, else the entire organization remains tainted and untrustworthy. Were they all in on the scam???

Rather is probably wearing a golden parachute, a little shove ( or maybe a big one) wouldn't hurt him and poof - hes out the door.

But I haven't a clue, except I do believe they will need a marvelous and complete story to stay below Watergate levels.

Dont people ever learn? Did Clinton learn?

Sig

The story is not stopping - it is escallating. The Scarborough show is reporting a new expose by USA today tomorrow. This is a stinking onion that smells worse the more that is peeled.

Here is what I think. I think the looney left was getting absolutely panicked by the polls and reacted in a desparate way.

Where is the Dan Rather anger at the duper - lol!

Not a chance. CBS News will be paying the price for some time. Rather has cemented his legacy. IMO, he will now write a book to try spin the overall public's view of his work.

Just proves what many Republicans have known for years. Media bias....This time, Rather let his own personal bias get in the way of his professionalism, and may take CBS News down with him.
