Bushies DID supress the black vote in Florida in 2000 and were caught trying again in 2004. That has been proven from the Miami Herald and other investigations. That was how they cheated to win. A GOP topper in Michigan is quoted as saying "if we dont supress the Detroit vote (blacks) we can't win". Much of the new GOP is very rightwing and very racist, at least beneath the surface. Otherwise they wouldn't be in the black vote supression business.
