Stewart is great.

SECRETARY ON DEFENSE
5/10/2004
With grisly new photos and revelations appearing daily, Washington is scrambling to determine the scope of prisoner abuse in Iraq and Afghanistan and quell international outrage. How? By bringing the circus to town.

In the center ring was Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. Most networks broke regular programming to broadcast Rumsfeld's appearance before the Senate Armed Services Committee. The stakes were high for the Secretary of Defense, who sought to ingratiate himself with both Washington and the American public. By the way, if you're trying to get in the good graces of the American public, one thing you do not want to do is pre-empt Oprah.

Rumsfeld's most alarming declaration was, "I am accountable for them and I take full responsibility." Watching the testimony on a White House monitor, Condoleezza Rice, Dick Cheney, and the President said, "Weird... We understand all the words he's saying... Just not in that combination..."

But Rumsfeld also tried to prove he isn't all talk, offering, "I'm seeking a way to provide appropriate compensation to those detainees who suffered such grievous and brutal abuse and cruelty." He then mused, "One idea I've been kicking around: for each Iraqi wronged, I pledge to plant a tree in Israel. Huh? Like it? Just spitballing here, people."

Rumsfeld concluded with a promise, stating, "Without any question there will be more coming out, and there will be surprises." He added, "I suppose I 'could' tell you what they are. But then they wouldn't be a surprise. Suffice it to say, if you liked My Lai, you're gonna love what we've got in store for June."

Only adding to the pressure on the Pentagon: the release of new photos showing U.S. military personnel threatening a naked Iraqi prisoner with German shepherds. All the more cruel, considering that the detainee in question was on record as being a "cat person."

As a matter of fact, using Occam's Razor, Jon Stewart managed to do it in 3 simple steps....
Which means nothing. Occam's Razor is NOT a rule of logic. It is a method allowing one to proceed to a possibly correct answer. It's use does NOT mean the answer reached thereby is correct. If facts are found that contradict the conclusion reached via Occam's Razor, then that conclusion is wrong and Occam lied to you.
