"Those that say they are decided must be changing their minds (flip-flopping?) fairly often."

Yeah. Bush seems to have a lock on the security issue, but it also is where he is the most vulnerable. Iraq is getting ready to blow up in his face. I didn't know the situation has gotten as bad as it has until recently. As a result, I am more and more of the opinion that we will soon see photographs of helicopters lifting off with people hanging onto them in a chain...

CJ, re: The trend has been that the country as a whole is undecided.

It's funny, most of the polls only show ~4% to 7% undecided, yet there are some pretty strong swings week to week. Those that say they are decided must be changing their minds (flip-flopping?) fairly often.

Do you really think its flip flopping on the part of the voters? I think its mostly a reflection of the bias of the pollsters or their sampling techniques. Yesterday, the EC showed roughly 20 polls from 2000. Of that 20, two called for the popular vote to go to Gore, two showed a tie and the rest showed Bush getting the popular vote.........in some cases, by quite a large margin.

re: And then there are the debates. If only softballs get pitched at Bush and the media doesn't question him when he starts lying, then it could solidify more people in his favor.

I did not watch the debates in 2000. However, most believe Bush won the debates. How can that be? He is such a lousy impromptu speaker.
