Sounds like CBS and Rather have decided that, on balance, it is best to CYA.

Every statement coming out of CBS now has been gone over by five Viacom lawyers.

lack of hardball talk and really just lack of cbs's Demand from burkett who his source really is makes me think that around the corner a cbs big guy got together with dnc big guy to cook this scheme with the false documents. cbs does not really want burkett to give up his source, (let's say for example his dnc source for the Idea), because all players eventually would be exposed. burkett did the documents, but burkett was just the fall guy. the idea was from cbs/dnc land somewhere. i watched michael isakoff yesterday skate around this idea, but i think that will be his bent for a while. seems like some fbi visits to burkett could get burkett talking quickly. i don't understand why the feds are not talking to burkett right now.
