John Kerry AWOL For Over A Year

By Ken Hughes
Sept. 21, 2004

John Kerry has been AWOL from his job in the Senate for over a year while running for President. Unlike Bob Dole who had the courtesy to resign his seat in congress to run for president.

John Kerry complains about bills the president isn’t getting passed through congress and yet he isn’t there to vote. Not unusual for Senator Kerry the lack-luster. Senator John Kerry hasn’t attended one scheduled security meeting this year. How can a man who professes to be qualified to run the country do so without the necessary briefings from qualified advisors to learn what’s going on in the world? John Kerry has been getting his intelligence reports on Iraq from retired Generals and old Clinton advisors who have no involvement in the war in Iraq and rely solely on second hand information. This makes the Kerry information third hand at best.

Senator Kerry finds time to Mountain Bike, Wind Surf, Sail and a myriad of other activities all the while ignoring the security aspects of his country. “I have a plan” without explaining the plan doesn’t cut it. If I’m going to vote for a leader for the coming four years I want to know his intentions. President Bush told America in his acceptance speech at the RNC convention what he intended for the next four years.

Senator Kerry seems to be relying on polls and pundits for his daily positions on the issues. If it quacks like a duck, waddles like a duck and looks like a duck maybe it’s not a duck after all. Maybe it a John Kerry position on an issue. Who knows when what Kerry says is what he thinks.

I’ve been looking over the Kerry web site to see what information I can gather in the way of Senator Kerry’s position on any given issue. The thirty nations involved in the Iraq Coalition doesn’t seem to qualify as foreign support in Kerry’s mind. Granted France, Germany and Russia aren’t there but they were there for Saddam. You could say they completed their tour of duty when the Americans arrived. We haven’t found Osama bin Laden. Not true we know he’s in Pakistan. Would Senator Kerry invade Pakistan to capture one man? The hypocrisy of the Kerry position regarding Osama bin Laden is he insists we capture or kill him and on the other hand he insists Yasser Arafat be left un-impeded to order the continual murdering of Jews.

Could it be Senator Kerry has no international position other than to tell the President he’s wrong, wrong, wrong. Senator Kerry reminds me of the Radio Evangelist from Del Rio Texas. They can tell you the exact time and day of the second coming if you send a contribution. Kerry knows exactly what and how to resolve the worlds problems if you’ll elect him president. He’ll only give us the answer when he’s elected president.

I have a problem with a man who has held the same job for twenty years and has yet to make a mark worthy of notice. John Kerry refuses to discuss his senate record choosing to concentrate on three months of combat as his credentials for leadership. John Kerry should release his military records. He claims to have his records posted on his web site what is posted is the Kerry version no official documents can be found. President Bush as released all his records or has instructed the Pentagon to release them. Its time for Senator Kerry to do the same.

I worry about a man who would consider negotiating with murders. It should be obvious al Qaida has no intention of negotiating anything short of total surrender of the entire Muslim world. Their desire for a Fundamentalist fanatical Islamic society. Who knows how far they’re willing to spread their fundamentalist religion. Now they say the Arab world but is that ever enough for despots. Can despots ever be trusted?

Senator Kerry if you keep empowering the terrorists by bashing the president’s efforts you will surely lose this election. Americans are a proud people; they are also a very thin-skinned people. They’ll fight to the end to defend their domestic disagreements. When attack from the outside they become one very angry united determined people. Your insistence on having the French and other Europeans direct us is turning the voters off.

I fear Senator Kerry’s interest is not in America and its people but in the perks the world offers it most powerful man.
