Finding a president who doesn't pander to anyone would be a pretty tough task, but we know that Bush was completely in the neocons' thrall.

He also has other scary constituencies, like the apololyptic christian fundamentalists who play a role in his policies.

With Kerry at least there is the chance of a more rational foreign policy.
