'Iraq was to the neocons what Afghanistan was to the Taliban:' Now there's a turn of phrase -g- ..... this woman Klein sounds a bit like she may have a favourite ideology of her own, but she's quite correct imho, to point out that it was folly to set up so much unemployment from the start of the occupation, by shutting down all the state-owned industry [including the military] .... many were employed by SOEs, that's just the way it was, not the best of situations but certainly not one that can be fixed overnight - for the occupying power to sell off another people's assets would ensure their permanent status as pariahs Quite an interesting piece, i think she's way-leftie but it's well written ..... cheers
