I expect the military to try and hide in those new bases they are building and let the Iraq police protect them while they drop bombs from the air. Of course the insurgency will move toward the oil fields drawing out the soldiers. Deadly cat and mouse games will ensue. All of the watch-fob wearers in Washington will be torn between the deaths and half the world's oil supply. That's why it will take so long to go.

TP, I expect the U.S. to leave Iraq the same way the Russians left Afganistan.

Not a good idea, given how Afghanistan gave us the Taliban and 9/11.


There will be no good ending. I think in the end there may have to be a multinational force in place much like Afghanistan. That's assuming we can get Iraq under control.......a very big 'if' right now.
