OT - Someone just pointed out this stock to me - TZOO.

It's an online site for travel deals. $24 million (18 cents) in trailing 12 months revenues (EPS), and expected to go to $36 million (36 cents) over the next 12 months.

Its market cap is $1.1 billion! PE is 200x, and price to trailing sales in 53x!

And the site looks like crap!

www.travelzoo.com

Not much to do with politics, but who said the bubble has ended?!?!?

However, consider this: if the terrorists really wanted democracy and freedom, then why aren't they giving it a chance in Iraq?

Terrorists don't want these things...

So yes, our policies of the past have been the fire beneath the cauldron that has now boiled over. I've said as much in my previous posts. So we need to change our policies for sure. However, these terrorists deserve no quarter and no negotiation, simply because what they want is the end of our way of life and our culture. And that we cannot allow.

Consider our policies of today mindmeld...what are we doing to improve the Israel/Palestine situation...when was the last time you heard anyone in the administration talk seriously about this problem, other than some token phrase like bush gave yesterday at a skeptical and now hostile international UN community? what has the prez done to win over the help of that international community who is so critical to winning the peace bush talks about? what competence has the administratin demonstrated in Iraq that creates a climate where terrorists DO NOT flourish? did we have to go about it as we did? did we understand what we were getting into or did we mis-calculate, as the prez in rare moments of truth and introspection admits? what has the iraq war done to improve the arab image of america as a fair catalyst for peace and fairness in the region, considering that we are now at an all time low image wise ? how are we going to extricate ourselves from this mess without leaving behind a cauldron of trouble? would you give this man another chance to dig us deeper into the hole he has dug us into already ?

Al

Agree with all of your points and I've done a ton of reading on the Middle East, so I know what you say is likely true. However, consider this: if the terrorists really wanted democracy and freedom, then why aren't they giving it a chance in Iraq? It's the best chance that Arabs have ever had for democracy and freedom. I'll answer for you. There are two reasons. First, these terrorists aren't interested in democracy and freedom. What they want is power and if they have to kill innocent Iraqis in their headlong rush to kill American troops, they will do it. If we did pull out now, I can virtually guarantee you that a democratic nation would NOT emerge. Instead, it would be an Islamic theocracy just as brutal as the Saddam regime or complete civil war.

I think you are making a mistake confusing Iraqi insurgents with al Qa'ida terrorists. The Iraqi insurgents are Sunnis who don't want to play the minority role in an Iraqi gov't. They are used to being on top. They are terrorists but imo not with the same MO as al Qa'ida.
