Do you recall what Powell is reported to have said when he saw the stuff Cheney sent to him to include in his UN speech -- paraphrasing "I am not going to say this -- it is bullshit". Think of all the statements made that used words of absolute certainty when referring to things that we now know were not only completely wrong, but where a responsible person would never, ever represent them as the Administration did -- as certainties. We paid people like Chalabi to help feed the decision process with made-up stuff that supported forgone conclusions. At the same time, we watched this Administration turn a deaf ear to anything that might deflect them from their chosen path. And now we have dead and wounded, and their families have a right to know why the people we elected and the people they hired can get away with doing this to their sons and daughters, and to their families. And to top it all off, we have people getting huffy about how terrible it is to criticize these dishonest politicians and bureacrats who decided that their pet project was not only worth the life of your loved one, but it was within their rights to use every opportunity to mislead you into thinking there was a good reason for supporting this war.
