Who'd he inherit the other 6 from? Couldn't have been Clinton's fault. We ALL know that. Impeccable sense of timing, too. Whenever he needed a distraction from the outrage his sexual peccadilloes were causing, he bombed someone.

Poppy gave him (1992-1993, Somalia) as a welcome to the WH present! President Bush [Sr.] agreed to send troops to Somalia to assist in the U.N.'s humanitarian efforts in December of 1992; the initial deployment was on the order of nearly 25,000 troops, and by the late spring of 1993 - as it had been planned - only about 1,200 U.S. troops remained. It was under Clinton, following an ambush on a U.N. convoy in June of 1993, that the mission broadened in June and July of 1993 to include combat operations. This resulted in the death of four American MPs when their vehicle was destroyed by a remote-controlled bomb in early August of 1993. A few weeks later, five or six troops from the 10th Mountain Division were wounded when they were ambushed by militia forces. An additional development arising of this change in policy was the periodic peppering of the U.S. and U.N. installations by mortar fire, often at night. Following this escalation - under Clinton, I remind you - additional combat troops (Task Force Ranger) were subsequently deployed (end of August 1993) to attempt to capture Gen. Mohammad Aideed. Which, I'm sure you know, lead to the horrific debacle of October 3rd, 1993. Any questions? LPS5
