I had seen this. It is an excellent article. A politician knows that to have budget surpluses is to invite additional spending.

An article in the Wall Street Journal yesterday pointed out that given the current rate of growth of Social Security, Medicare and tax receipts, in about 75 years these programs will take 100% of government receipts.

I would support a candidate who was willing to take on the budget problem head on. John F Kerry is not such a man.
