Animal Farm is essentially a critique of Stalinist Russia. The Republicans are leading us down the road to George Orwell's 1984. With doublespeak and propaganda to get people to focus on relatively irrelevant countries like Iraq. Americans should really be more concerned with issues within this country, or if a foreign country perhaps North Korea, Iraq was made into a boogeyman with propaganda. The whole Attack on Iraq 2003 was an amazing feat of propaganda, beating the WMDs and whipping up a war frenzy. Not that the Democrats haven't used propaganda to fan the flames of war. WWI was a classic case where Wilson promised to keep us out of WWI and then used the state propaganda apparatus to whip up a war frenzy. The Germans leared lessons from this episode of American propadanda and used it in WW2, and then the U.S. government under both Republicans and Democrats have used it is all. We're now seeing the culmination of the propaganda state under George "WMDs" Bush.
