Pravin, Yeah, I was considering your points, but I thought the benchmarks show that larger L2 it makes little difference for AMD64. I know it helps a little. I wonder how much of it is a marketing thing, since they are competing against a 2MB L2 Dothan. Marketing (and benchmarking) may have something with it. I don't think AMD wants to be blown out of the water on a small subset of apps that are very cache dependent, at least not in higher end Athlon 64 mobiles. With lower end Semprons, it doesn't matter as much. Joe
