Somehow my baby brother skated. He'd had asthma which left him deaf in one ear or something. I don't know, but my parents supported him. A family friend's son did community service for two years rather than go. Others went to college to avoid the draft. I think men who were fathers didn't have to go. I'm not sure about that. I can't think of anyone whom I knew who supported it. In the end, what was the point? What good did it do this country? Iraq - that's one that isn't going to end any time soon, no matter who's in office.
