Looks like there is a second half to that bug. When "new" > 1, works as intended until you've stepped to the last msg, then "no such msg" again.

I refined the second bug a little ..

When you look at a single post there is no "respond" button. That button only shows up with multiple post listings.

For me to get to the single post I would click on the post number and hit enter. (FYI)
