Additional spending when there are not sufficient revenues is a tax on future generations. Additional Taxes shrink the economy. The thory that this is a tax on future generations would have some validity.

Virtually all government spending is wasteful. Wasteful spending is a tax on future generations.

There is no such thing as a free lunch.
