MSNBC's documentary on Kerry's Vietnam War exploits ends with a section where Nixon and Colson apologize to Kerry for all their dirty tricks, lies and smear campaign. It brings tears to the eyes to see the rightwing president Nixon, an old man close to death, embracing Kerry with a big smile on his face. It must have been very important for Nixon to get that off his chest. He knew Kerry but right about Vietnam but he demonized him anyway. Just like Bushies are doing now and did to McCain in 2000. So if Nixon can apologize just like McNamara and Colson, for their sinful wrong-doing why can't the current rightwing liars, and why cant Bush apologize for smearing McCain, Cleland and Kerry, and letting 9-11 happen and bungling the war in Iraq? Bush has a lot of sins to atone for.
