Kerry was correct. Vietnam was a huge dishonest disgrace. But Kerry never blamed the troops, he squarely blamed the top brass and White House policy makers. Robert McNamara, who was at the top as a planner of the war, later confessed his sins in the stunning film "The Fog Of War" You ought to see it. One of the startling admissions by McNamara was that not until 20 years later did we even know who we were fighting against in Nam. We were wrong and thought it was a communist state backed by Russia and China, but in fact we forced them to get re-supplied by those countries. In Vietnam as in Iraq we turned out to be fighting against the very same people we were claiming to be liberating. STUNNING! Why cant Bush learn the lessons of Nam?
