Anchorage is the only sizeable city I've been to where you can see moose doo on the sidewalks. It's a privilege to be able to share that place with the moose, I think. They are truly magnificent.

I saw a video one time of a man walking across the street into the bank. A moose was eating a bush near the door and took such offense that he stomped the man to death. They are big animals, and you can't predict what they will do so it's best to stay away.

As a boy camping in Idaho, we always hoped the moose would not walk through our camp. They came close but never intruded. It's probably a good thing for them and us. Our little .22 pistols would have been useless, but we would have been in big trouble for using them.
