I disagree with Johnson's domestic policy. His Great Society was a disaster with generational impact. But like most mainstream Democrats before the New Left hijacked the party, Johnson stood firm on the side of the United States and wasn't afraid to aggressively defend our interests. He escalated Vietnam, after all. I'd rather have someone like LBJ as commander in chief than Kerry. I won't waste my time disparaging Kerry, I think most of us here are on the same page on that count. My estimation of the man sure has dropped like a rock since the beginning of this election campaign.
