There's nothing wrong with an energy task force having maps of Iraq's (and many other countries) oil fields.

Of course, Iraq and neighboring countries are vital to the world economy. However, Iraq's oil is controlled by a national oil company and that isn't gonna change. Just like all the other countries in the area.

Bush, Cheney and Rice have had some past involvement in the energy industry. Personally I think thats more likely to be a good thing than bad.

He WILL drill in your children's schoolyard

If there's reserves there someone should drill.

but he WILL NOT push alternative energy or reduction in usage in reality

IMO alternative energy or energy conservation schemes which require government subsidization aren't worth much.
