Horse race gets even harder to call
Bob Von Sternberg, Star Tribune

During a week in which polls about the presidential race poured mercilessly down on voters' heads, the mother of all polls was released.

On Thursday, the American Research Group released a poll of 30,600 likely voters nationwide, 600 in each state and the District of Columbia.

In the nationwide horse race, the poll showed President Bush leading Democratic challenger John Kerry 47 percent to 46 percent, a tighter race than most other recent national polls, which have shown Bush ahead.
